I play with the photographic image of the sea, downloaded from the Internet and inkjet printed on a piece of paper; I explore new representations of the complex space envisaged as Mediterranean; I consider the sea as a place/territory for experimentation and transformation. Gestures are emblematic signs representing the duplicity of separation and connection, main characteristics of this portion of water which is both frontier and a possible path of interconnection. The sewing thread puts different parts in relation but keeps them at a certain distance, separated but connected. This a metaphor of relationships and interactions observable in any socio-cultural context but becoming even more interesting in complex context where both identities and territories are transforming.
